Emmanuel Castis started out playing the lead character Steven of Horizon Deep on SABC-3’s popular Soapie “Isidingo” for just over six years. His successes on Isidingo were then followed by playing the character of Chris Spencer, on SABC’s groundbreaking new drama series “Erfsondes” and are currently recording the second season of “Erfsondes”. Castis also played the lead in the series “One Way” alongside his long time friend Brandon Auret who played the role of Inspector Du Plessis in Isidingo.
Castis received formal university training in the arts, singing, choreography and dancing. This prepared him well for the demands of the stage. Over the years, he has performed in the cabaret shows at Carnival City and The Carousel, which include his acclaimed performances in “Frankly Speaking”, “Bachelor Boy” and “Let the Good Times Roll”. Not to mention his turn as Rocky in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and as the prince in Janice Honeyman’s pantomime “Cinders and Her Fella”. And his life long dream Danny Zuko in “Grease” is the Word.
Emmanuel’s trophy cabinet is also received a welcome boost recently when he became the winner of Season four in the popular Dance programme “Strictly Come Dancing”, with his partner Lindsey Muckle. Castis is a brilliant MC has been employed by various institutions and brands to host corporate functions, fashion shows, and road shows. His pure, vibrant personality and public speaking abilities are a winning combination that. Recent clients include Momentum, The Board of Health Care Funders (BHF), Kumba Mines Iron Ore division, Cresta Shopping Centre, the Nicholas Rey Foundation, Sun International, Gold Reef City and many more.
Emmanuel is currently embarking on “the love of his life”. The attractive Greek South African has been collaborating with Music Producer Neil Solomon and World renowned engineer Peter Pearlson on his Debut CD. His smooth silky voice has attracted writers and artist like Lionel Bastos, Ed Jordan, Loyiso Bala, Denim and Angie Peach to his creative team. Emmanuel is currently performing with his band in venues Nationwide and the Debut CD will be launched towards the end of 2008.
